Formatting & Manuscript Preparation
Word Count
Research papers should typically range between 3,000 and 8,000 words, including title, abstract, keywords, footnotes, and references.
Document Format & Typography
Manuscripts must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.docx or .doc). Use Times New Roman or Georgia, 12pt font, 1.5 line spacing, and 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins throughout.
Abstract & Keywords
Include a concise abstract of 150 to 250 words summarizing research question, methodology, primary arguments, and key findings, followed by 4 to 6 keywords.
Title Page & Anonymization
To facilitate double-blind peer review, submit your paper in two files: (1) Title Page containing paper title, author name(s), institutional affiliations, ORCID (if any), and corresponding email; and (2) Blinded Manuscript without any identifying author names or institutional mentions.
Referencing & Citation Style
JIPP standardizes on APA 7th Edition (or Chicago Notes & Bibliography for historical studies). Ensure all in-text citations are matched with complete entries in the reference list, including DOIs where available.
Email Subject Line Standard
When sending your email, format your subject line as:
Author's Last Name_Paper for Vol. [X]_Issue_[Y]
